 Phase 1: Preparation & Safety

 

● Ventilate: Open windows and turn on fans immediately to circulate fresh air.
● Safety Gear: Wear fresh gloves and, if necessary, a mask.
● Inventory Check: Note any damages or missing items from the previous guest/tenant for
reporting.
● The "Top-Down" Rule: Always dust and clean from the ceiling down to the floor to
avoid re-contaminating surfaces.

 

 Bedrooms & Living Areas
● Linens: Strip all beds. Wash sheets, pillowcases, and duvet covers on high heat (60∘C+).
● Dusting: Wipe ceiling fans, light fixtures, and window sills.
● High-Touch Sanitization: Disinfect remote controls, light switches, and door handles
with EPA-approved wipes.
● Under-Furniture: Vacuum under beds and sofas (where guests often lose items).
● Finishing Touch: Fluff decorative pillows and neatly fold throw blankets.

 

 Bathrooms (The "White Glove" Zone)
● Toilet: Deep clean inside the bowl, the base, and behind the tank. Sanitize the flush
handle.
● Shower/Tub: Remove all hair from drains. Scrub grout lines and polish chrome faucets
to a mirror shine.
● Glass & Mirrors: Use streak-free cleaner. Check for water spots on shower glass doors.
● Restock: Ensure 2+ rolls of TP are available, and toiletries (shampoo/soap) are topped up.
● Floor: Hand-wipe corners and baseboards where dust accumulates.

 

 Kitchen & Dining
● Appliances: Clean the inside and outside of the microwave, oven, and toaster (empty the
crumb tray).
● Refrigerator: Remove all old food. Wipe down shelves and the rubber door seals.
● Sanitization: Disinfect all countertops, the sink, and the faucet.
● Dishware: Ensure all dishes in the cabinets are spotless. Run the dishwasher if needed.
● Pantry: Check for expired items or half-used bags left by guests.

 

 Entryway & Exterior
● Sweep: Clear the front porch of cobwebs, leaves, and debris.
● Door: Sanitize the keypad/smart lock and wipe down the front door.
● Welcome Mat: Shake out or vacuum the entry rug
